Privacy
Short version: no accounts, no tracking cookies, and nothing you write is stored on our servers.
What happens to text you type
The citation generator, word counter, readability checker, transition-word search and words-to-pages calculator run entirely in your browser. Their input never leaves your device.
When you press a button on an AI tool (for example "Write my thesis"), the text in that form is sent to our server and passed through Vercel AI Gateway to a language model to generate a reply. EssayTools does not save it or use it to build a profile. Avoid pasting personal information you would not want processed by a third-party AI provider.
What is stored in your browser
To save you retyping, this site keeps a few things in your browser's local storage: your last eight AI results per tool, your saved bibliography, and the text in the word counter. They stay on this device, are never sent to us, and you can delete them below.
Analytics
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and does not identify individual visitors.
Rate limits
To keep the AI tools free, the server briefly keeps a count of requests per IP address in memory to stop abuse. It is not written to disk and disappears within minutes.
